    DAY 1: ARRIVE CHRISTCHURCH-TRAMCAR DINNER RESTAURANT

    You'll be met and transferred by private car to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring Christchurch, the South Island's largest city, with its galleries, craft studios and shops. Tonight, sit back in the luxury of a colonial-style a-la-carte dining car and enjoy a 4-course meal including welcome drink and coffee/tea. This beautifully restored tram takes a 11/2-mile loop around central Christchurch while you dine. Overnight: Christchurch, choice of hotel for 2 nights (D)

    DAY 2: CHRISTCHURCH CITY HIGHLIGHTS

    This morning, meet your guide for a tour through the "Garden City." With modern architecture and historic buildings, Christchurch is set against a backdrop of beautiful parks, gardens and rivers. Highlights include Cathedral Square, Canterbury Museum with morning tea, Mona Vale Homestead & Gardens, and a drive up to the Port Hills for scenic city views. The rest of the day is at leisure.
